Singapore Frenzy Envy And Corruption Disruption

The team at GoSwifties has been watching closely what we have internally called the “Singapore Clamour” but resisted to join the fray and noise. In a nutshell, countries and/or government representatives in countries like Thailand, Philippines, and other ASEAN nations have berated and accused of Singapore’s government of dodgy dealings and artifice to dominate hosting The Eras Tour, especially in ASEAN.

There have been many views and opinions, to and fro, back and forth, up and down. Justifications made, amidst neighbourly moral raids.

The Art (and business of the tour), is complex. The actual show is probably 0.01% of the overall cross section of strategy, planning, financial, technical, logistical , and operational concerns. There is an unspoken perspective to this though: that to accuse Singapore, rightly or wrongly and whether true or false, is to equally take aim at Taylor Swift and everyone involved behind the scenes of wrongdoing. And dumb, they definitely are not.

Here lies the dilemma and the potential reversal of any attacks on Singapore. Wrapped underneath the accusations and protests against unfriendly manners lies an ugly potential truth that it takes one to know one. But this is not the case of Singapore, pushing ahead in ensuring that even if divisions and opposing forces exist, the national cohesion remains intact and that its government is not paralysed by extreme forces and views.

Just like Taylor Swift, the Team, and so many others whose creativity, discipline, hard graft, talent, and an ample dusting of good fortune collide to manifest into reality la dolce vita, Singapore by and large deserves its place in the world and its ability to corner The Eras Tour.

And, if you are not a Swiftie, at least realise that Taylor is no longer just a person or celebrity. She is a business, a phenomenon, and an important wake up point in what is so far since 2020, one nightmare after another.
